The term Binalig, meaning “made different" in the Maguindanaoan language, is the embodiment of change in kulintang music.
In this track, Pantayo explores ways in which we can transform the traditional Filipino gong music by writing a modified part for the Agong, incorporating an additional rhythm with a hand drum, and switching the rhythm of the sarunay from a Binalig to another Kulintang song type, "Sinulog".
